Local vendors & makers Holiday shopping

The TASC Barnside Vendor Fair brings a day of local vendors and community shopping on Saturday, November 28, starting at 10 AM. It is the kind of small, homegrown market the valley does so well: a chance to shop local, support small makers, and ease into the holiday gift season all in one relaxed morning. Come early for the best selection and plan to stay for a bite.

Saturday, November 28 from 10 AM. Free to browse; bring cash or cards for the vendors.

Millions of lights Holiday shows & Santa

Holiday in the Park transforms Six Flags Magic Mountain into a winter wonderland running November 26 through January 3, 2027. This is its opening weekend, which makes it a perfect post-Thanksgiving outing: millions of twinkling lights, holiday shows, festive food, and Santa visits across the thrill-ride capital. Sam's tip: go on a weeknight in early December if you can, when crowds are lighter and the park feels extra magical.

Opening weekend runs Friday through Sunday, November 27-29 at 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia. Evening sessions are the highlight; arrive by late afternoon to catch the lights coming on.

Farmers Markets: Old Town Newhall & College of the Canyons

Saturday & Sunday mornings  ·  Late-fall harvest

Both of the valley's weekly markets run their usual schedule this weekend. The Old Town Newhall Farmers Market fills the library parking lot at 24500 Main Street on Saturday from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, and Sunday morning the Certified Farmers' Market sets up in Parking Lot 5 at College of the Canyons (Valencia Blvd & Rockwell Canyon Rd) from 8 AM to noon. It is the perfect weekend to stock up on citrus, winter squash, and greens.

Choose-and-cut & pre-cut Christmas: Friday, Dec 25

Tree farm season is at its peak, and this is the classic weekend to pick your tree. Gilchrist Farm on Bouquet Canyon Road sells fresh-cut trees alongside its holiday farm animals, and Frosty's Forest on Orchard Village Road remains one of Southern California's rare choose-and-cut Monterey pine forests. Pick your tree now and it will stay green and fresh through Christmas. It is also a great way to get the kids outdoors after a long weekend inside.
