A Note for Our Community
The August 24, 2026 fire destroyed at least five businesses along Old Town Newhall's Main Street, including the Newhall Refinery restaurant, The MAIN performing arts theater, an auto collision center, Care Tucker Style House, and the former El Trocadero restaurant. Our hearts are with the owners, employees, and families. If your holiday plans include dining, shopping, or a tasting room in Old Town Newhall, that is one of the most direct ways to support the recovery. None of the events below take place at the destroyed venues, and they are unaffected.
Ways to support Old Town Newhall recoveryLabor Day 2026 falls on Monday, September 7, giving SCV families a three-day weekend and one final round of warm-weather fun. Hurricane Harbor is in its final summer stretch, the free Summer Trolley rolls toward its last day (September 8), and the SCV Beach Bus makes its final coastal runs through Sunday. Saturday brings Pizza al Tramonto at Santa Cruz Brewing and the valley's farmers markets, and Monday is a relaxed holiday to close it all out. Here is everything happening, with current events listed first.

Santa Clarita Summer Trolley: Final Week
All Weekend · Runs Through Sept 8 · Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor, Valencia Town Center & Old Town Newhall
Santa Clarita's free Summer Trolley makes its last rides of the season through September 8, and this is your final weekend to ride. It links Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor, Valencia Town Center, and Old Town Newhall: a free, parking-less way to bounce between theme parks, shopping, and dinner. It disappears for the season after Labor Day. Note that during the Old Town Newhall fire recovery, some trolley routing may be adjusted, so check the route map before you head out.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor: Summer Send-Off
All Weekend · Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor, Valencia
Labor Day is traditionally one of the final big weekends for Hurricane Harbor, Southern California's popular water park right in Valencia. With slides, wave pools, and a lazy river, it is a go-to way for SCV families to squeeze out the last of summer. Expect warm late-summer weather, so arrive early for parking and lockers, and bring plenty of sun protection. Consider riding the free Summer Trolley to skip the parking stress.
Saturday Farmers Markets: Old Town Newhall & Bouquet Canyon
Saturday, Sept 5 · 8:30 AM - 1 PM & 8 AM - 1 PM
Start the long weekend with a farmers market. The Old Town Newhall Farmers Market fills the library parking lot at 24500 Main Street from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, with produce, artisan goods, and a coffee-and-brunch walk down Main. Farther north, the Bouquet Canyon Certified Farmers Market & Crafters Show runs 8 AM to 1 PM at 27000 Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus through September. Both are free to browse.
Labor Day Monday: Trolley Finale, Parks & Brunch
Monday, Sept 7 · All Day
Close out the three-day weekend on a relaxed note. The Summer Trolley runs its final day on September 8, so Monday is your last full day to ride free between the theme parks and shopping. Spend the day at a neighborhood park, enjoy a late brunch at The Original Saugus Cafe (serving since 1898), Cafe 86 for ube lattes, or San Fernando Coffee Co. in Old Town Newhall, and soak in the last of summer.
A gentle holiday reminder: Monday is a big travel and beach day across Southern California, so if you head to the coast, go early and expect company on the roads.
