If you think Santa Clarita Valley's nightlife ends at chain restaurants and the Valencia Town Center food court, you haven't been paying attention. Over the last few years, the valley has developed a genuinely impressive craft brewery scene — all locally owned, each with its own personality, and within about a 15-minute drive of each other. Pair that with the cocktail bars and live music venues on Old Town Newhall's Main Street, and you have a night out that rivals anything in the Los Angeles area.

Brewery Draconum
24407 Main St, Santa Clarita
The newest and most distinctive addition to the SCV brewery scene. Brewery Draconum occupies a prime spot on Main Street in Old Town Newhall with a full medieval theme — think dragon motifs, stone archways, and a dark, moody taproom that feels like a fantasy tavern. Their beer lineup rotates frequently, but they have built a loyal following for their hazy IPAs and Belgian-style ales. The taproom has board games, occasional live music, and a welcoming vibe that draws everyone from Dungeons & Dragons groups to first-date couples. This is the kind of place that gives SCV's nightlife character you won't find anywhere else.
Pocock Brewing Company
24907 Ave Tibbitts, Valencia
One of SCV's original craft breweries and still one of the best. Pocock Brewing is tucked into an industrial park in Valencia, but don't let the location fool you — the taproom is warm, inviting, and always full of locals. They specialize in traditional styles done right: crisp IPAs, smooth stouts, and approachable lagers. The outdoor beer garden is a highlight, with picnic tables, string lights, and food trucks on weekends. Pocock is also dog-friendly and family-friendly during the day. If you can only visit one SCV brewery, start here.
Lucky Luke Brewing
25108 Rye Canyon Loop, Valencia
Lucky Luke Brewing started in Lancaster and brought their craft beer north to SCV with a Valencia taproom. Their specialty is bold, West Coast-style IPAs and barrel-aged beers, and the taproom has a spacious, industrial feel with plenty of seating and a rotating food truck schedule. Lucky Luke is known for experimental small-batch releases, so there is almost always something new on tap. Good for groups, birthday hangouts, and anyone who likes a strong IPA with serious hop character.
The Dudes' Brewing Company
Valencia Town Center, 24250 Town Center Dr
The Dudes' Brewing brought a brewery tasting room directly into Westfield Valencia Town Center, making it the most accessible craft beer spot in the valley. Their tap list covers the full range from hazy IPAs to barrel-aged stouts, and the location in the Town Center means you can easily pair a tasting flight with a shopping trip or dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. The Dudes' also serve food, making it a convenient one-stop option for a casual night out.
Santa Cruz Brewing Company
27825 Fremont Ct, Valencia
A newer addition to the SCV brewery lineup. Santa Cruz Brewing launched in 2024 and has been building a following for their nano-brewery approach — small batches, creative recipes, and a taproom that feels more like a craft beer lab than a commercial operation. Their brewmaster experiments with everything from hazy NEIPAs to fruited sours, and the limited releases often sell out fast. If you are the type of beer drinker who loves trying something you cannot get anywhere else, put Santa Cruz Brewing on your list.
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse
24320 Town Center Dr, Valencia
Not a local craft brewery, but it deserves mention for its in-house brewed beers and central location at the Valencia Town Center. BJ's brews several of its own labels on-site, including their popular Piranha Pale Ale and Brewhouse Blonde. With a full kitchen, a massive menu, and a 4-star rating from 190+ reviews, it is a reliable option for a beer and dinner combo without leaving the Town Center.

The Ultimate SCV Brewery Crawl
Want to hit multiple breweries in one afternoon or evening? Here is Sam's recommended crawl, organized by proximity so you can walk, drive short distances, or designate a driver.
Stop 1: Old Town Newhall
Start at Brewery Draconum on Main Street (24407 Main St). Park in the public lot and walk over. Grab a flight and soak in the medieval tavern atmosphere. While you are on Main Street, walk a few doors down to Newhall Refinery for a craft cocktail before heading to Valencia.
Stop 2: Valencia Industrial
From Newhall, head 10 minutes north. Pocock Brewing (24907 Ave Tibbitts) and Lucky Luke Brewing (25108 Rye Canyon Loop) are both in the Valencia industrial area within 5 minutes of each other. Hit Pocock first for the beer garden, then Lucky Luke for the bold IPAs.
Stop 3: Valencia Town Center
Finish at The Dudes' Brewing (24250 Town Center Dr) inside Valencia Town Center for food and a final round. Pair it with dinner at one of the new Town Center restaurants like Yard House, Salt Creek Grille, or the soon-to-open KPOT Korean BBQ.

Old Town Newhall After Dark
Main Street in Old Town Newhall has become SCV's premier nightlife destination. Here is where to go after the sun goes down.
Newhall Refinery
The crown jewel of Main Street's cocktail scene. Newhall Refinery serves craft cocktails, elevated bar food, and has one of the best patios in SCV. The barrel-aged cocktails and the Main Street views make it the perfect date-night or after-work spot.
The MAIN
The city's premier performing arts venue at 24266 Main Street. Live theater, comedy nights, open mic, and concerts in an intimate setting. The Shakespeare Festival runs through early August, and they regularly host music and comedy throughout the year.
ArtWalk Newhall
Monthly art walks on Main Street featuring local artists, galleries opening late, live music spilling onto sidewalks, and pop-up vendors. It is free, it is walkable, and it transforms Old Town into a creative block party. Check the city's calendar for dates.
New Dining
Table 504 — Chef James Dalton's New Spot
Opened May 2026
One of the most exciting restaurant openings in SCV this year comes with a direct connection to Major League Baseball. Chef James Dalton — the personal chef for LA Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts — opened Table 504 in Santa Clarita in May 2026, bringing elevated American cuisine to the valley.
The menu focuses on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients with dishes that reflect Dalton's experience cooking for elite athletes: high-protein, flavor-forward, and beautifully presented. Think dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood, creative salads, and an excellent wine list. The space itself is warm and modern, with an open kitchen and a bar that is quickly becoming a neighborhood hangout.
Table 504 is a genuine addition to SCV's dining scene — the kind of restaurant that raises the bar for the entire valley. Sam has been twice and calls the dry-aged burger "the best in SCV."
Hidden History
Mentryville — A Ghost Town in SCV's Backyard
Pico Canyon · Near Stevenson Ranch
Most SCV residents have never been to Mentryville, but it is one of the most fascinating historic sites in the valley. Tucked into Pico Canyon just north of Stevenson Ranch, Mentryville is a preserved 19th-century oil boom town — California's first commercially successful oil field, established in 1876.
Today, the site features the restored Mentry House, the Pico Canyon Schoolhouse, and several original buildings surrounded by golden hills and oak trees. It is part of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and is open for hiking and self-guided tours. The 2-mile Pico Canyon Trail starts at the parking area and winds through the historic site and up into the canyon — a perfect easy-to-moderate hike with a history lesson built in.
Mentryville is the kind of hidden gem that makes SCV special. It is free to visit, rarely crowded, and offers a glimpse of California history that most people drive right past. Sam's recommendation: bring a picnic, explore the buildings, and hike the canyon trail before the summer heat sets in.

Brown's Hard Cider
Craft cider taproom at 24907 Ave Tibbitts in Valencia — same complex as Pocock Brewing. Hard ciders made from California apples, plus guest taps. A great option for cider drinkers in a brewery-heavy area.
The Loaf Japanese Bakery & Cafe
A unique evening option at 24450 Main St in Newhall. The Loaf serves Japanese-style baked goods, specialty coffees, and light fare in a cozy, design-forward space. Open into the evening, it is a great alternative to a bar for a low-key night out.
SENSES Block Party Nights
Third Thursday monthly on Main Street Newhall through September. The whole street becomes a pedestrian-only party with live bands, food vendors, and craft cocktail pop-ups. The next one is August 20 with a "Time Machine" theme.
Heirloom Vintage & Antiques
For a completely different kind of evening, browse Heirloom Vintage (24262 Walnut St, Newhall) for curated antiques and retro finds. The Country Antique Fair Mall on Golden Triangle Rd in Saugus is another treasure trove for weekend browsing.
