As a real estate agent, the first question every buyer asks me about a neighborhood is where they'll eat. The great news for Santa Clarita is that the answer keeps growing: this fall the valley picked up a long-awaited Greek kitchen in Canyon Country, a Korean street food shop in Newhall, and a tiki bar on Old Town Main Street. Here are the newest doors worth knowing about.

Nick the Greek

The valley's long wait for Nick the Greek is over. The fast-casual Mediterranean chain celebrated its Santa Clarita grand opening on September 9 at 19335 Plum Canyon Road, Suite A, in the Canyon Country side of the valley, serving its signature gyros wrapped in pita, Greek bowls, salads, and plenty of fries. Think lunch-counter speed with proper tzatziki, real lamb and chicken off the spit, and the kind of generous portions that make it an instant weekday favorite.
It is the perfect pairing with a homebuying tour of the Skyline Ranch and Plum Canyon neighborhoods: grab a gyro, eat on the patio, and drive the streets you might actually live on. That is the SCV experience in a nutshell.
Newhall
Jaws Topokki
23426 Lyons Avenue, Newhall · Korean street food
Korean street food has arrived in Newhall. Jaws Topokki at 23426 Lyons Avenue specializes in tteokbokki, the beloved spicy rice cake dish, served in versions from the classic Jaws Topokki Soup to Rose and Cheese variations. The menu also covers gimbap rolls, Korean sausage, deep-fried bites, fish cake soup, and combo sets built for sharing. It is casual, quick, and genuinely different from anything else on the Newhall dining map, open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM.
My tip: order a combo for the table, start with the mildest topokki if you're new to Korean heat, and save room for the gimbap. It's a great small-group meal before a show in Old Town.
Old Town Newhall
The Fallen Trident
24329 Main Street, Old Town Newhall · Tiki bar, opened 2026
Old Town Newhall has a new reason to linger after dinner: The Fallen Trident, a pirate-and-nautical themed tiki bar at 24329 Main Street. Tiki drinks with proper garnish (think carved pineapple and paper umbrellas), a small food menu that includes Spam musubi, and a moody room that feels a world away from the boulevard. It is open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 PM, with later hours on Friday and Saturday, and closed Mondays.
After the August fire on Main Street, every visit to Old Town counts double. A cocktail at The Fallen Trident, dinner at a surviving Main Street restaurant, and a walk past the historic facades is a full Newhall evening that directly supports the neighborhood's comeback.
The Big Openings Are Still Ahead
If you like watching the valley's dining map change, you are in the right decade. Valencia Town Center's transformation continues through 2027: Round1 Bowling & Arcade takes over the former Sears building, with the YUU Japanese Food Hall, Spo-cha, and KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot joining the mix along with 175,000 square feet of new dining and entertainment.
