From craft pour-overs in Newhall to cozy neighborhood cafés in Canyon Country, Santa Clarita's coffee scene has exploded in recent years. Here are the spots worth your morning.

Santa Clarita Valley has grown from a valley with a handful of chain coffee shops into a genuine coffee destination. New craft cafés are opening across Newhall, Valencia, Saugus, and Canyon Country — each with its own personality. Here are Sam's picks for the best spots to grab a cup in SCV.
Honu Coffee
Newhall
A neighborhood gem on Lyons Avenue with a loyal following. Honu serves craft espresso drinks, specialty lattes, and a curated selection of pastries. The space is warm, minimal, and designed for lingering — laptop-friendly with solid Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets.
Tucked on Placerita Canyon Road, Trophy is a craft coffee shop that takes its beans seriously. Single-origin pour-overs, perfectly pulled espresso, and a rotating selection of roasts. The kind of place where the barista knows your name after your third visit.
A clever name and a genuinely great coffee experience. Neighbarista on Lyons Avenue is a community-focused café with a full espresso bar, tea selection, and food menu. Popular with families and the post-school-run crowd. Outdoor seating available.
More than just coffee — The Daily Harvest is a full café and juicery on Lyons Avenue. Açaí bowls, cold-pressed juices, avocado toasts, and quality espresso drinks. It's the go-to for health-conscious SCV residents who want their morning fuel with a wellness twist.
A welcome addition to Canyon Country's coffee scene. San Fernando Coffee Co. brings craft drinks and a neighborhood café vibe to Soledad Canyon Road. Finally, Canyon Country residents don't have to drive to Valencia for a quality latte.
Soledad Canyon Rd, Canyon Country
Henry's Coffee
Newhall
A cozy café on Walnut Street in the heart of Old Town Newhall. Henry's is the kind of spot where regulars bring their laptops and settle in for the morning. Quality espresso, drip coffee, and a warm community atmosphere right on Main Street.
The beloved Bay Area import continues to be a Valencia favorite. Known for custom-built drip coffees (they brew each cup individually) and the signature Tesora blend. The Mint Mojito Iced Coffee is a cult classic. Always busy on weekend mornings.
Valencia, CA
Way Station Coffee Shop
Newhall
A classic neighborhood coffee shop on Main Street. Way Station is unpretentious, consistent, and loved by locals. Perfect for a quick espresso on the way to the trail, or a leisurely morning with the newspaper. Old-school coffee shop charm with modern drinks.
24377 Main St, Newhall
85C Bakery Café
Valencia
Taiwan's famous bakery chain has a devoted SCV following. 85C is known for its sea-salt coffee, fresh-baked breads, and an incredible array of pastries and cakes. It's a one-stop shop for coffee and carbs — Sam recommends the chocolate croissant with a sea-salt coffee.
Valencia Town Center, Valencia
WE Lounge
Newhall
A newer addition to Old Town Newhall's growing café scene. WE Lounge combines specialty coffee with a lounge-style environment — a great spot to work, meet a friend, or just enjoy a slower morning on Main Street.
24480 Main St Suite 110, Newhall
Dutch Bros Coffee
Santa Clarita Valley
The Oregon-based drive-thru chain has arrived in SCV and it's already buzzing. Dutch Bros is known for its creative drinks, upbeat baristas, and fast drive-thru service. The Rebel energy drinks and flavored cold brews are particularly popular. A hit with the younger crowd and anyone who loves a fun coffee run.
Multiple SCV locations
"I've been hitting coffee shops in this valley for 22 years. The scene has changed so much — when I first moved here, it was basically Starbucks and the Saugus Café. Now there are a dozen independent cafés that could hold their own anywhere in LA. My weekend routine is Trophy Coffee for a pour-over, then a walk through Placerita Canyon. That's my version of a perfect SCV morning."
Coffee Shop Tips for SCV Newcomers
Weekend Mornings Are Peak
SCV coffee shops fill up fast on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Arrive before 9 AM or expect a wait — especially at Philz, 85C, and the Newhall spots.
Newhall Is the Coffee Hub
Lyons Avenue and Main Street in Old Town Newhall have the highest concentration of independent cafés. It's worth making a coffee crawl of it.
Pair Coffee with a Trail
Several cafés are near trailheads. Grab a coffee at Trophy or Honu, then walk Placerita Canyon. Coffee + hiking is the quintessential SCV morning.
Community Meetups Welcome
Most cafés are community-friendly and host informal meetups. Check the Agape Village Community Meetup at Valencia Town Center for a structured option every Tuesday and Friday.
Know a Coffee Shop We Missed?
SCV's café scene is growing fast. If there's a new coffee shop, roastery, or café we should feature, Sam wants to hear about it.
